Sara Paiva

Dr. Sara Paiva, MD, MsC, PhD, is a visiting scholar at Georgetown and teaches “Women & Health in the Americas” within the WGST department.

Dr. Paiva is a certified Ob/Gyn from the Brazilian Federation of ObGyn and has conducted research on Mindfulness-Based interventions concerning stress, has served as a consultant at the Pan-American Health Organization and Pan-American Centre of Perinatology, and is currently conducting research at the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center.

She holds a Medical Degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in Physiology and Biochemistry from Georgetown University.
