Call for Papers – WGST Annual Undergraduate Writing Competition 2021 (due 3/8)

The Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Georgetown University is pleased to announce its 2021 writing competition. This competition is open to essays written while the author is an active Georgetown undergraduate student during the year of 2020.  All Georgetown undergraduates who were enrolled in a course offered by the Women’s and Gender Studies Program in 2020 are encouraged to submit their work.  The paper should be on a topic related to women’s and gender studies, and have feminist perspectives and approaches. 

The prizes are as follows:

First Place: $500

Two Honorable Mentions: $200 

The winners of the competition will be announced at the WGST celebration event of Women’s History Month, and the award winning essays will be published on the WGST program’s official website. 

Submission date: March 8, 2021

Please send papers as an attachment to Leslie Byers, byersL@georgetown.edu, by the end of business day on March 8, 2021.
